Cinderella Shoes

My name is Allysa Silvestre, but you can call me "Allay" or "Ally." I love writing, listening to music, helping other people, and reading (sometimes). I was raised by my father's parents. The story behind this is that my mom and younger sister died when I was 1 year old. To survive, my dad decided to work in Manila to support my financial needs. Living without my parents was a nightmare for me. It feels like I was abandoned and never chosen. But at some point, my grandparents raised me with courage, respect, and determination. What's most interesting for me is that just after all the disasters and waves came into my life, I'm still here, writing my blog to share my story and thoughts, to inspire others, and to enlighten them that "pain, failure, and hardship are basically a part of living. To grow,we must encountered hardship that build us to be strong, and stronger."

It is one of my most memorable photographs, as well as an unforgettable experience. It was January 1, 2022, a new year, and our family went to the people's park at Tagaytay. It was my first time to go there; I was so excited that I forgot to bring a jacket. Then, when we were at the park, I was shocked because of the weather. "It's so cold and foggy!" But at the same time, I never missed that chance to show my Instagrammable posings, as well as to capture the beautiful view of Tagaytay City.

My aunt and I were having a conversation about a funny video that we watched then all of a sudden I asked her to take a picture of me while I acted like a mermaid. I was so happy at that moment. I was so childish. It seems that my childhood dream to become a mermaid has come true.
